Summer and School!

Just a  few pictures from Dustin's summer at home!  Just barely got the camera fixed (after major surgery undertaken by Dr. Meyer and Nurse Kelli :-) at home involving lot of little screws and a can of compressed air).  This is little miss Taygan!!  I haven't seen her since she was born, but from all reports she is quite the character and keeps Gina very busy!!  Can't wait to see them at Christmas hopefully!

Jaycee "cheesing" it up for the camera.  She is such a doll.  Can't believe how big they are getting!

This is Dustin's favorite milk drinking buddy!  Katie says Aubrey would go through a whole gallon of milk by herself in less than a week if she would allow it.  She sure loves her Uncle Dust!  As do all the nieces and nephews!

I think this is what we miss the most about being in Missouri....Time with family!!! These guys made a mass exodus up to elk ridge for a camping trip.  Dustin said that they had a blast!!!  Went hiking, cooked good food, and sat up late talking around the campfire!  It just doesn't get much better than that, except maybe if I could have gone too :-(   But I was in Missouri in the middle of nursing school, so I am glad they were having a good time!

Two very good looking boys!!!  I may be a little biased but definately some of my favorite people!  I have so many incredible men in my life!  Awesome dads, brothers, grandpas, and an incredible husband.  How lucky can one girl get?

And of course....they couldn't leave Missy home!!!

This is after we finally got all the sand out of the camera.  Let me tell you....fixing it was quite the adventure.  Dustin was all amazed this day because I finally blow-dryed my hair.  Between school, clinicals, and overall craziness, I normally let my hair air-dry over night, or put it in a pony-tail.  I finally got up the ambition to blow dry it and give it a little bit more body.  I don't think my husband recognized me. J/K!

At this moment Dustin is officially done with his first block of fall semester. Next time this year he will be starting clinicals!!!!  So proud of Dustin!  He did incredible on his tests and passed this semester with flying colors!!  He and Mark have a good time laughing and joking with one another and are definately excelling in Vet School.  Couldn't ask for better neighbors in the basement, better friends to hang out with, or better families at home that support us!  Kind of a sappy post, but just feeling very greatful for everything good in my life!

Crazy Daze.........

It's been a long time...... I know!  But I really do have an excuse this time!!!!  It's really isn't any fun to blog without pictures and our camera is currently out of commision due to being dropped in the sand and now it won't open! Oops!  But other that that Dustin went home for 7 weeks this summer and I got to go home for 3.  It was awesome to play with family.  I got to see ALL my sisters and there kids at my mom's house.  Can't even express how much I love my family and how much they mean to me!!!!  The time we got to spend together was priceless for me!!!!  I also got to go swimming, boating, shopping, relaxing, cooking, working, and all around playing around with my mom!!  It doesn't get much better than that.  I spent my first two weeks at my house and then traveled down to spend a week in Blanding.  I hadn't been home to Blanding for over a year!!!  It felt good to be back and see more family.  I got to work with Dustin, go to the sale barn (one of our favorites) and eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant, I got to bale and haul hay, camp overnight in a cabin, hike in the mountains, almost get struck by lightning, watch a San Juan football game (always a lot of fun!!!!) and all sorts of good adventures!  The days flew by way to fast and then we were back on a plane headed for Missouri. :-(  We really don't mind Missouri, we just love being with our families so much that it is hard to be so far away!  Currently Dustin and I are both juggling full time school, church callings, and trying to fit in sleep, exercise, and a little fun now and then.  Pretty short update, but its better than nothing!!!

2011 Adventures

May 6, 2011
Exactly three years ago my best friend took me to the Logan Temple and made me one of the happiest girls in the world!  Exactly three years to the day later I couldn't have been happier spending the day with the man I love in the St. Louis Temple!  Even if we did have a few glitches!!

He always makes it easy to smile!!!
It was awesome to have my parents in town for a fun filled weekend!!!  We spent Friday in St. Louis, where we went to the temple, the zoo, some old indian ruins, and a St. Louis Cardinals game!!!  We had a blast.......even though the navigator (me) got us lost a few times.  But hey give me some credit I had never been to St. Louis! :-)  We had to take these next two pictures.  Notice that Holly is the "Social Butterfly." :-)
We decided that if mom got a picture Dad needed one too!!
Just after dinner at TGIFridays and on the way to the baseball game!
Awesome game!!! We had a lot of fun!!!!  Beautiful view, fun company, spicy nachos with lots of jalepeno's and they won!!!  Couldn't get much better than than!!!!  It was amazing to have my parents visit the week before I started nursing school.  They were also here to see me get put into the primary presidency in my ward.  I have to say I really enjoy my calling!  I love the kids and couldn't have asked for better sisters to serve with!
I have a picture of my parents at the ball game too but my computer wouldn't let me upload it. :-(
After church one Sunday.  We had a lovely hatching of cicada's in Missouri this year.  They were EVERYWHERE!!!!  And they were so loud!!  It took us three tries to get this picture because they kept landing on me and I would flinch as I tried to take the picture. :-)
Our garden!!!!!  The day we planted it.  It looks very different now. The tomatoes have quadrupled in size and the peppers are producing like crazy!!!  One of my new favorite parts of Missouri in my own backyard!!!  We call it our salsa garden since they only things we planted were tomatoes, bell peppers, and jalepeno's.  Can't wait to bottle hot sauce this fall!
All in all life is going good. I currently have just three weeks left of my first semester of nursing school!!!  Dustin is home working hard after successfuly finishing his first year of vet school.  He did amazing and passed his classes with flying colors!!! I could be prouder of all he has accomplished!!  I get to visit family in Utah for a few weeks in August.  Can't wait to see my family and hold my nieces and nephews!!

Easter Fun!

Easter Fun at the Meyer House!!!

These are the bunnies I made for my primary class. They are washcloths rolled and folded and then they hold a plastic easter egg full of treats.  I may be biased but I think they turned out pretty cute.  I have to give credit where credit is due though.....this was my mom's project that I just copied!

So this has a funny story!  Sunday morning I was feeling kinda stupid cause we hadn't really made any plans for celebrating Easter.  I had got a small basket with a few treats and movies but not much.  Well I got this crazy idea to try and make a easter bunny while Dustin was still in bed.  So I started searching for anything and everything I could find.  This is what I came up with.  A corn muffin mix for the base.  Marshmellow cream to frost the ears. M&Ms for the eyes and nose. Chocolate chips for the whiskers, butterscotch chips for the mouth and a marshmellow cut up for the two bucked teeth.  It looks totally ridiculous I know!  When Dustin came out and saw it he asked "What is it suppose to be a moose?"  So this is my failed attempt at a bunny rabbit that has know been dubbed the "MOOSTER BUNNY" in our house.  We may just have to make one every year now! :-)
I decided that you are never to old to color easter eggs.  I have a girl I work with that just moved here from Kenya.  She asked me at work what all the fuss was about eggs.  She had never heard of dying easter eggs.  So I invited her over to the house and we colored eggs.  Below is so of what we colored.
We used rubber bands to make the striped ones.  It's harded then it looks to make a thin rubber band stay on an oval shaped egg.
This was our special belated celebration with the easter bunny!!!  When I got hom from work Friday Dustin told me to go look in my shoe that had been sitting on the front porch for a few days.  To say the least I was nervous that it was going to be a snake or a mouse, neither of which I am very fond of!!!  Much to my surprise it was something fluffy and cute!!  Dustin had caught him on the side of the house when he was mowing and saved him so I could see.  We have two big bunnies that frequent our backyard, but this little guy is probably only a few weeks old!
What a cutie on the right!!!!!!!  Yeah Yeah I know the bunny is cute too. ;-)

Spring Break

So I sent Dustin home......again........and I had to stay in Missouri by myself........again!  But oh well he had a blast and after a year of vet school I guess he deserves a break now and then. :-)  If I could attach all the pictures he took while he was home, they would be 95% cows 2% other animals 3% family. J/K!!!  But the boy definitely does love his cows so I'll include a few pictures!

Dustin and Missy!!!!
Some of the babies!
When you go to Cortez for the auction you MUST EAT CHINESE!!!! Especially when it's this good!!!!  This is one of our all time favorite places to eat!
You never know what your going to see at the Cortez Auction Barn.......that's what makes it so fun!!
Coolest calf ever. Mom is a what we call maroon balley. No idea where this little guy came from.
Abby our yearling holstein heifer that we paid $20 for. :-)  Looking pretty tall and pot bellied.
Aubrey and her favorite Uncle Dust!  The comment here........"No Uncle Dust you can't go out to the farm until I get my shoes on!!!! I'm going to hold you here until I'm ready."
Two biggest milk drinkers in the family!!!  They could probably go through a couple gallons a week by themselves.....if we would let them. :-)
How can you not love these two faces????
Aubrey LOVES Missy. Missy didn't know if she loved Aubrey riding here, but Aubrey sure thought it was a lot of fun!
This is Kelli's new hobby. Sorting through 5,000 pennies. I know it sounds crazy but I got over $23 of old Lincoln wheat pennies out of the deal including two 1909 pennies which are the first ever minted Linocln pennies!  I probably have over 200 pennies from 1909-1920. I know it's weird but I think its fun.  Oh by the way I just brought another bag of 5,000 pennies home to sort through! :-)

Out of order but just a few more pictures from Dustin's trip home.
Branding calves.....How many men does it take to brand one calf???? J/K!

Dustin doing what he loves!  Just wish I would've been there cause I love it too! Someday we'll make it back!

All I want for Christmas is to go HOME!!!!

Dustin on our new horse Rio!!!!  We went for a Christmas Day ride.  It was kind of chilly but absolutely wonderful!!!  I had such a great time.  Sadly it was the most I had been outside in weeks.  In Missouri I go from home to work and then back home and most of the time it's to and from work in the dark, so this was a wonderful afternoon!!!
 This is me on Koda!!
What an absolute doll!!!  I haven't got to be around this little one very much so it took him a few days to warm up to me, but once we became friends we had a spectacular time building towers of blocks and knocking them down.  By the way he has got the deepest cutest laugh ever!!
Grandma Carol reading to Josie. Josie absolutely loves stories.  Aunt Kel got her fair share of reading too!!!!  But I didn't mind!
My two cute boys getting ready to go to church and bless Pailey!
This is their attempt at a mad face! :-)
My little niece isn't so little anymore.  In fact she is a gorgeous teenager!!!!  But she isn't taller than me yet..............we are still just even!
Getting ready to head back to Missouri.  I had such a blast while I was home!!!  I got to sleep in, go shopping with Mom and Kris. Meet two new nieces; play with all my nieces and nephews, eat fantastic food, make caramels and fudge, ride horses, pick up heifers, weigh and work calves in negative degree weather.  I got to play card games almost every night and all in all have a wonderful ten days with the people I love the most!
My favorite person in the world sitting in front of a buried car on our street.  We got 15-17 inches of snow in one day.
The Toyota looked really funny with this snowdrift on top of it!!!  I didn't have to go to work on Tuesday or Wednesday and Dustin didn't go to school on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.  People in Missouri all ready over-react to six inches of snow.  You should have seen the chaos of 18!!!  People cleared out the grocery stores of eggs, milk, and bread!  It's not like we were snowed in for a week!! Funny people!  They must have been planning on eating a lot of french toast and eggs!!!

Well that pretty well catches up our latest adventure.  Upcoming includes Dusting going home for Spring break and Kelli starting nursing school in May!
